In accordance with the Grid Codes of the Flemish, the Walloon and the Brussels-capital regions, the Belgian Distribution Grid Operators (DGO's), in cooperation with the other market actors, have commonly defined a Utility Market Implementation Guide (UMIG) that describes the interchange of information between the DGO's and the other market players. Since the liberalization different UMIG’s have been released. UMIX organizes the market consultations through task forces and core teams and elaborates the UMIG-documentation.
All organizations wishing to exchange structured information electronically, will have to adhere to this UMIG, and will have to be certified by UMIX. This certification assures that the messages exchanged and processes supported by the certified party, are conform the UMIG. That is, the structure, sequence and data content as well as the back-end processes do support the process described in the UMIG.
Besides the UMIG-documentation, UMIX plays a part in different other domains of the Belgian liberalized energy market. As a result, a number of other documents are published on the UMIX-website.
